Brandon grew up in East Hills and Phoebe in Roslyn Heights, a mere 6-minute drive from each other, but they never met.

Both Brandon and Phoebe went to Shibley Day Camp, but Brandon wasn't in Phoebe's twin brother's group, so there were no playdates.

They were at the same bar mitzvah of a mutual family friend in January 2010, but the closest they came to meeting was standing near each other in a group photo. Brandon quickly returned to the video games and Phoebe to the dance floor.

In November 2016, Phoebe visited a friend at the University of Pennsylvania, where Brandon was a student. Although Phoebe walked the entire campus that weekend, they never came across each other.

Both Brandon and Phoebe went to Dublin for St. Patrick’s Day in 2018 during their semester abroad, Phoebe traveling from Florence and Brandon from Tel Aviv, but they didn’t cross paths.

In February 2020, they were at the same apartment for a pregame before a night out in the city. Neither of them introduced themselves to each other.

After returning to Manhattan post-quarantine in late 2020, Phoebe matched with a boy on Hinge who suggested a double date for their first meeting. Phoebe was unable to find a friend to join, and as a result, the date never happened. If it had, the boy was planning to bring along Brandon. Thankfully, in this situation, they did not meet.

Until…

On January 22, 2022, Hinge suggested to Phoebe that she was “most compatible” with a boy named Brandon. While scrolling through his profile, he seemed slightly familiar, and Phoebe eventually realized she had heard of Brandon through multiple connections over many years. She spent way too much time deciding how to interact with his profile, ultimately liking one of his photos. Brandon was pleasantly surprised to see Phoebe’s “like” and began a riveting conversation with “Hey how was your weekend”. After a horrible typo that Phoebe is still embarrassed about to this day and a canceled attempt at a first date because Brandon was “exposed to COVID”, they finally met at Jungle Bird for drinks on February 11. Before saying goodnight, they shared truffles from Milk Bar and scheduled a second date.

The next few years brought birthday celebrations, apartment moves, career milestones, holidays with family, the most memorable nights out with friends, and many travels around the world from London to Utah, France, Miami, Colorado, Hawaii, and more.

Finally...

On March 22, 2025, Phoebe and Brandon kicked off the first real spring Saturday with brunch in the West Village. To take a trip down memory lane from when Brandon lived nearby, they strolled over to the West Side Highway and ended up at Phoebe’s favorite spot, the Tribeca Native Boardwalk, where Brandon dropped to one knee!
